  This place was recommended to us by the people at the motel we stayed at. A group of us came here for breakfast. We all ordered a selection of breakfast foods. The food came after awhile and the breakfast special ($4.50 with one egg or $5.50 for two) - I had two eggs, toast, came with Rosti potato (I wish it had been crispier, not so soggy) and sausage. It was okay, but nothing really different than an average breakfast made at home. It wouldn't have been worth it if they charged more. It was okay. Bathroom doorknob sticks and bottom of the bathroom door needs to be planed off so it can open properly. I like the fact that there are booths when you walk in and tables in the rest of the restaurant. Wasn't crazy about the tv blasting news on a Sunday morning, just wanted a quiet meal. Wasn't awful, but wouldn't go out of my way to have breakfast here next time.

  We eat at Dave's anytime we head into Bancroft.  The food is always fresh and delicious.  I'm a huge fan of the steak fajita wrap and burgers, and my parents rave about the fish fries.  The owners are the absolute sweetest, most accommodating people.  The best restaurant Bancroft has had to offer in a while.

  Dave's Place has been open for a while. It has just took us forever to get around to eating there. It is located in the midle of town. The restaurant itself is located in a remodelled home. There are not that many tables, but it is quite a wll set up little spot. One waitress managed all table while we were in last night.
  The steak we have was Fantastic and cooked to perfection! I love when I order rare and it's actually rare. Looking forward to going back to try the Fish and Chips. :-)

  What a nice treat.  We finally made it to Dave's place on a Friday night and had to wait for a table - that is always a good sign in my books.  We didn't wait long, and ordered the wings and rib combo, and the 2 piece fish and chips.  Too much food, but not a bite went to waste, we took doggie bags and finished the leftovers for lunch the next day.  Fish was perfect,  nice light batter.  As a test, I asked the waitress how they smoked the ribs -  (figured she'd say they came in frozen that way or something) and she proudly replied, we don't, they are slow baked from fresh and then char grilled for each order and tossed with their special home made sauce.  They did taste wonderfully smokey - mush be the char grilling.  It's so nice to find a place that serves food that they prepared from scratch, not just heated up.  And the wine selection was fabulous too.
